Federal Laws/Legislation

Although it will take federal law to abolish TSA, changes to Alaska law that can improve protections against TSAbuse in the meantime.

State Laws/Legislation

Priority 1.  Repeal Alaska regulations criminalizing photography at passenger screening in Alaska's airports.

17 AAC 42.060.  Access to restricted areas. …(f): "A person may not photograph or film a passenger screening area or copy or duplicate an airport identification badge without the written approval of the airport manager." AS 02.15.240 makes violation of this regulation a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $500, imprisonment of up to 90 days, or both.

We must repeal or rewrite the law that created TSA:  Aviation and Transportation Safety Act (Public Law 107-1771)

Priority 2.  Enact passengers' rights protections into Alaska statutes.  See GOALS.
